Questions

What do I wear?

Bring your fun and festive attire. If you want to be fancy, do you, but please wear what’s comfortable. We recommend shoes for walking (and dancing) in dirt and sand. Also, hats are great. It will likely get chilly at night, and it can get pretty windy, so dress in and bring clothing layers. We will also have heat lamps, fire pits, and blankets available.

What’s the weather like?

Historical averages say highs of 82 degrees, lows of 54 degrees. There may be wind, there may be rain. Plan to roll with the punches, weather predictions can change without any given notice.

What’s the venue like?

We’re getting married outdoors, at beautiful Rimrock Ranch in the Mojave Desert. The desert is special to us, and Fran works for the Mojave Desert Land Trust, which protects the area’s unique living landscapes. Did you know the California deserts cover over 25% of the state and are home to more than 2,000 species of native plants? It’s one of the most biodiverse regions in the country and 1/4 of those species, including the iconic Joshua tree, aren’t found anywhere else on the planet. We love it here, and are thrilled to share our city with you on our wedding day.

Where do I park?

There’s limited parking at the venue. We are going to provide shuttle service—likely from a parking area in Pioneertown to and from the wedding venue on the wedding day. We will provide confirmation and details as we get closer. Stay tuned.

How is cell service in the area?

Service gets spotty on the drive, and will vary at the venue depending on your service provider. And *please* note: Our ceremony will be unplugged, so no phones allowed (put them in your pocket or bag for the ceremony, please). Thank you for understanding.

What kind of ceremony will take place?

Our ceremony will be unplugged (no cell phones, please) and last around 30 minutes. For the most part guests will be standing, however we understand if some folks need a seat. Please let us know who in your party will need seating in the RSVP form.
